Plan Representatives for the SIP401k PlanOur History
In the early 1980s, under the vision of Teamster Local 315 Secretary-Treasurer Vince Aloise and Teamster Local 853 Secretary-Treasurer Al Costa, an hourly contribution Savings Plan was started for NorCal Teamsters Locals and their members.
In 1995, that Plan was converted to what is now known as the Supplemental Income 401k Plan. Under the direction of Fund Managers, along with the Board of Trustees, the Plan soon expanded to offer the benefits of the 401k Plan to Teamsters and all other Unions across the United States.
For the last 27 years, the Supplemental Income 401k Plan has been the source of a value-added Plan to help Teamsters and Union members add to their savings and financial security.
The Plan currently now has over 35,000 participants and 17 participating International Unions representing dozens of Industries. These Union members are building retirement security through their participation in the 401k Plan, using pre-tax contributions as building blocks for a better tomorrow.
Plan Investment Choices remain strong and Plan assets now stand at over 1.5 Billion dollars, making it the largest Multi-Union, Multi-Employer, Taft-Hartley Plan in the U.S.A.
